The Mission
There are currently more than 14,000 kids in foster care in Pennsylvania. Every day children are transitioned into new homes with a few items thrown in a trash bag. Our transition bags are given to every foster agency we can connect with who will share our vision in ensuring that kids are able to take a bag of new belongings with them when they change homes. So far, we've had the privilege of collecting and distributing more than 12,000 FLP transition bags. This holiday season, would you take the time to shop and pack for a bag of our requested items for a child in need?
Thank you for joining with us in our mission!

Each year more than 15,000 kids are served through the foster care system in Pennsylvania alone. Many of these kids are taken to a foster home with no belongings or a few items thrown into a trash bag. The Foster Love Project provides placement bags to be given to kids at time of a placement. It’s important to give them a good quality bag to reassure them that they or their belongings are NOT disposable.
As we head into the holiday season, this makes a wonderful "give back" project as a family! It also provides opportunities to talk with your kids about what foster care means and how they can reach out to youth in foster care.
Please only donate complete bags! Consider teaming up with a friend to do it together if needed. This makes a wonderful group project for your moms group, scout troop, sports team, church small group or social network.
Please do not purchase bags from Five Below because of their poor quality zipper. Other items from there are no issue, they have a great blanket/stuffed animal combo for $5!
Please avoid items with monkeys on them because of racial connotations.
Thank you for being a part of this special project! Kids in foster care face challenges that many of us cannot fathom. We want them to know they are not forgotten, but we love them and care about their future.
