Looking for a fun and meaningful way to give back? Host a Bag Packing Party! Gather your family, friends, or coworkers for a great time together while supporting youth in foster care. Every bag makes a difference!

• Assign items needed for each bag. (The complete lists are found here.)
• Pick a date and location for your gathering (no later than December 6)
• Drop off bags at FLP no later than December 13.

Volunteering at the FLP Center

We are grateful for each person who is able to help volunteer at our free shopping center for kids in foster care. If you have taken the volunteer orientation , we welcome you to sign up for shifts here.  Our next Volunteer Orientation will be held soon. Child Abuse and Criminal Background clearances are needed for all volunteers.

Volunteer responsibilities may include sorting new donations, restocking inventory, cleaning or miscellaneous other tasks.

We welcome families (kids 16 & older are welcome to help), corporate groups, church groups, social clubs, scout troops, sports teams + more to come volunteer together.

If you have a group of more than 4 people or are interested in one of our Corporate Friday opportunities, please reach out to us directly to check group volunteer availability.

The Mission

There are currently more than 15,000 kids in foster care in Pennsylvania. Every day, children are transitioned into new homes with a few items thrown in a trash bag. Our FLP bags are given to every foster agency we can connect with that will share our vision of ensuring that kids are able to take a bag of new belongings with them when they change homes. So far, we’ve had the privilege of collecting and distributing more than 22,000 FLP Bags throughout four states. This holiday season, would you take the time to shop for and pack a bag of our requested items for a child in need?

Bag Drive Hours & Location

We are receiving Bag Drive Bags at the main entrance to the FLP Center from December 16 – 20.

​Please enter our parking lot via the open gate, park in one of the spots beside our building, walk to our main entrance on Trenton Avenue, and ring the bell by the red doors.

Employee groups can sign up together for one of our Corporate Friday volunteer days. We can take groups of 5-15 people to assist with specific tasks and projects. Please reach out to us here to receive more details about signing up a group.

Love Through Lemonade

Are you a kid or do you know a kid who is looking for a way for help others in your community?

We invite you to host a lemonade stand and invite others to share their support for helping kids in foster care.

Print out this flyer and hang it on your lemonade stand. When people come to get lemonade, ask them to use their smartphone to scan the QR code to pay by card, or they can pay by Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal with the usernames provided. You can also collect cash and donate that to Foster Love Project.

Community fundraising is a fun way to make a meaningful donation and get others involved. You can provide love in action for youth impacted by transition.

Each year, Foster Love Project provides more than 250 holiday gifts to kids who are impacted by foster care and adoption.

You can donate as an individual or have your coworkers and community join in to provide children with a holiday gift of their choice.

FLP Bag Drive Bag Contents

Please note that we only give out bags that contain each required item. Please do not add optional items unless every required item is complete. We do ask that you do not include religious books or items that have monkeys on them. Please avoid shirts that say “I love mommy or daddy” as this can be confusing with the different caregivers in their life.  Print your checklist here.
